Collect on a Budget Sale
After nearly a decade of teaching, and countless studio experiments and studies while figuring out new work- the pile of random paintings is finally starting to get a bit out of control. Rather than throwing these works in the garbage, or painting over them, I have decided to go a different route with them.
I am going to offer these works at low prices (mailing included) in order to find them new homes. But here is the twist, the work will be sent randomly. Think of this in a couple of ways…
- this is the opportunity to add work to (or start) your collection on a budget
- I have been working in these materials for almost 15 years at this point, so even if these are demo panels or studies, they will be of quality
- studio space… I can always use more and this will make room
- - this is the most important one- I have two shows coming up next year that I need to make new work for, the funds from this sale will be of great help for me getting the materials I need to get the new work made.
Both of these shows will be at academic institutions, which is always great as a teaching artist. However, these types of shows are about the students being exposed to the work and not about collectors. This means I will be funding the work myself knowing that there will unlikely be robust sales from the show, as that is not the goal going in anyway. That being said, we all know the financial state in Illinois, which makes getting grant funding to make the work also an issue.
This is meant to be a fun way to get a new piece of art, and help me fund new work. Thanks for stopping by and taking a chance if you hit one of those buy buttons.
This sale is for a limited time only and will run through the end of the year, so tick tock.
